Topological Analysis, Visualization, and Design of 2 D Vector Fields
Analysis, visualization, and design of vector fields on surfaces have a wide variety of applications in both scientific visualization and computer graphics. On the one hand, analysis and visualization of vector fields provides critical insights to the flow data stemming from simulation or experiments of various engineering processes. On the other hand, many graphics applications require vector fields as input to drive the following processes. This book addresses vector field analysis and design for both visualization and graphics applications. More specifically, two topology representations of 2D vector fields, ECG and MCG, are introduced to address the completeness and accuracy issues in vector field analysis. In order to assist many modern graphics applications involving dynamical systems, a design system for time-varying vector fields on surfaces is presented for the first time. In summary, the presented work not only enriches the knowledge of vector field related study but also provides a number of future directions for this community.

A Lattice Attack on the Mc Eliece Public Key Cryptosystem
The McEliece cryptosystem was proposed by R.McEliecein 1978. In its original version it is based on Goppacodes. Given a public key matrix G and a codewordc=mG+e, we reduce the problem of recovering the errorvector e to the shortest lattice vector problem.Using Conway and Sloanes Construction A , weconstruct a basis of a lattice, in which the norm ofthe shortest vector w.r.t. lp norm is equal to the lpnorm of the error vector e for p log(t), where t isthe weight of the error vector e. To find suchshortest vector in our lattice we use the LLL andblock basis reduction algorithms for the lp norm,which guarantee only an approximation of the lengthof the shortest lattice vector. Our tests show thatthis attack method provides no positive results forGoppa codes of length more than 127.

Construction of MYMI V-based gene silencing vector and its use
In this present era of Genomics, the genomes of many different organisms or plant species are already sequenced and some are being sequenced. As a result,a huge repository of unknown genes or genes with unknown functions has developed and functional genomics has to deal with the problems of such unknowns . We have constructed a novel VIGS vector,using the minimal replicon region of the DNA-A component of the geminivirus, Mung bean Yellow Mosaic India Virus (MYMIV). The vector is incorporated between the left and right border region of standard pCAMBIA vector so that the recombinant vector could be delivered into the plant following the usual agro-bacterial infection techniques. The MYMIV-based vector replicated as an episomal entity within 10-15 days past agro-infection in most of the legumes,tobacco and Arabidopsis plants. The silencing efficacy of this vector was demonstrated using GFP as a transgene and PCNA as an endogene. This vector is supposed to silence a large array of endogenes from a wide variety of plants in a fast track and cost-effective mode.
